지식재산 가치평가 분쟁에서 당사자들이 제시하는 평가액의 불일치는 계산의 문제가 아니라 인식 틀의 차이에서 비롯된다. 이 글은 과학기술학의 경계물(boundary objects) 개념을 원용하여 IVSC·OECD 이전가격지침·ISO 10668·WIPO 절차규범을 경쟁하는 기술적 방법론이 아니라 서로 다른 인식공동체 간 협력을 가능하게 하는 경계물로 재개념화한다. 매핑·선택·확장·합의의 4단계로 구성된 인식론적 수렴지대(ECZ) 모델을 제시한다.
